the fractured land

Okay, so I wanted to start this out by explaining all the ways and things that make me a environmetalist girlie but they didn't feel susbtantial. I literally just like, scratch the surface when it comes to living sustainably in my daily life. I feel like there is more I could do.

But like in a world where the most accessible resources are like just 'things' to be consumed, things that are not great for the environment; is it that easy? With ChatGPT and Shein and our iPhones?

I spoke to someone earlier whp shared that we do not make an effort. Like a real effort to somehow make and keep the things we consume sustainable.

That's fine. In The Fractured Land, Volker shows us how insanely easy it is to be fine with things that are harmful to our environment as long as they do not affect us directly. NIMBYs.

Most of us fall under that category.

So, let's be better or do better? Only because we all get to co-exist and have children and loved ones. Actually, because it's the kind thing to do. Hmmm, I'm not sure why yet but I want to be more intentional with the way I interact with the world and the way I contribute.

Give it a read and you'll see why.
